25th anniversary of Isabella Sinclaire — Business Savvy

I worked at The Nutcracker Suite in NYC when I first started. I spent 3 years there and didn’t keep in touch with a single Domme that I worked with. It was a different time back then. There wasn’t the comradery there is now amongst professionally dominant women. There was too much jealous. And I was the workhorse. So many times I overheard the other ladies say that the only reason I was busy because I was young and pretty which wasn’t meant as a compliment. “Just wait until she gets older…” That kind of criticism actually worked in my favor. I was smart enough to know that my looks could only get me so far. It may have been what got my clients in the door, but it would be my unique style, compassion, understanding, intuition and intelligence that would keep them there. And of course, a good understanding of business. It’s a philosophy that I continue to use to train my protégés as well as the importance of a sense of community among us. Individually we are strong. Together we are stronger.
