Ari Shaffir’s Skeptic Tank #205: Bound (with Mistress Isabella)

Ari Shaffir’s Skeptic Tank #205: Bound (with Mistress Isabella)

I had the pleasure to meet comedian Ari Shaffir and participate in his podcast, Skeptic Tank, after a referral from his friend, Bert Kreischer of Hurt Bert.   We arranged the meeting via text and the only reference I had to Ari’s personality, having only seen him once at The Comedy Store,  was watching a few videos from his site www.arishaffir.com.  I have to admit, that was probably a bad idea.  Watch “The Amazing Racist” for reference.

On the drive over, I was very nervous or I drank too much coffee.  It was hard to tell but I was fully aware I was about to meet a very intelligent, sarcastic and snarky man and I hoped I wouldn’t get the brute force of that side of his personality directed at me.  After all, my job is sort of funny and I’m sure it could open the door to many comedic jabs.  I was hoping I was prepared to jab back, if needed.  When I arrived at his temporary apartment, I was greeted with a friendly smile and casual hand shake.  It was a bit odd considering I had a large bag of torture implements in the other hand which Ari suggested I bring to try out on him and, of course, I did.   To find out how our first encounter went, you will have to listen for yourself.  Be warned, we had no shortage of things to talk about.  It was a very fun experience and  I hope we get the opportunity to do it again in the future.
